Keeping things clean
Trying to use cleaning products while keeping them away from toddlers who have just learnt to walk can be a bit tricky. Exploring their surrounding space and handling unusual objects is usually the order of the day for youngsters. Cleaning while someone else is around to take care of the kids is not a luxury that many parents can benefit from, so finding another solution is key. Firstly ensure that cleaning items are kept well away from areas that your child can reach. Kitchen counters and shelves are a good option, however, you should take care that the items cannot be knocked off or slip from their safe position. It is all too easy to look away for a moment and return only to find that your baby has a bottle of bleach in one handand a feather duster in the other; a lack of sleep and million and one errands to complete can mean even the best of us are occasionally off the ball. It's best not to keep products in low cupboards - the majority of people normally place cleaning fluids in the space under the sink but this is just asking for toddler trouble as many of you will know already. However, if you don't have any other suitable space, fit child locks onto the cupboard door to prevent them getting hold of any dangerous or nasty chemicals.
